Thelma A. Gibson, RN
Honorary Member Retired

Thelma Gibson is an Honorary retired member of the United HomeCare (UHC) Board of Directors. She has served on many boards and committees, and was a founder of the Jewish Home for the Aged. Gibson is responsible for the Gibson Health Initiative that provides free testing and assistance for HIV and AIDS. Her latest project is the Theodore and Thelma School of the Performing Arts in Coconut Grove, where the students receive academics training with a focus on the Arts.

Gibson's career and community involvement spans education, health, leadership, volunteerism, and service. In 1997, she was appointed as Interim City Commissioner and served on the City of Miami Commission.

Gibson is a graduate of Teachers College at Columbia University and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing education.
