Joaquin Leon is an honorary member of the United HomeCare (UHC) Board of Directors. In his previous role as senior attorney-at-law for Florida Power & Light/NextEra Energy, he handled a variety of commercial and tort cases, and has experience in discovery litigation support for major cases. In addition, Mr. Leon was assistant secretary of Florida Power & Light (FPL) Company and FPL Group, Inc., the parent company, as well as the registered agent of FPL Group, Inc. and its 500 subsidiaries. Leon also designed underground electrical systems for FPL.

Leon is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami in 1976.
