United HomeCare Services provides a range of volunteer opportunities for you, your company, your school, or your organization. Our volunteer activities are designed to meet your time limitations and interests. We will even customize a volunteer program for your business, school, or organization! Visit
Visits are typically once a week for at least an hour. You may choose to commit to visiting for as little as three months.*

Telephone contact
A friendly phone call to a homebound person can make their day. It can also ensure their continued health. You may choose to commit to calling one or one hundred people!

Chores/housekeeping
Sometimes the homebound need a little extra help around their home. You can provide it! Your time commitment can be one hour or one hundred hours.*

Repairs
Are you handy with a hammer or screwdriver? Make someone’s life a little easier by doing small repairs around their home. Your time commitment can be three hours or more.*

United HomeCare Services office assistance
We always need people willing to file, make copies, and answer phones. It helps keep us running well! Your time commitment can be from five hours to five hundred hours.

Special programs and projects (holiday baskets, special events, etc.)
We periodically conduct special projects to make the lives of the homebound more pleasant. From gift baskets to special “salon days,” we need YOU to make it happen. Your time commitment can be as little as three hours.*

Special Programs and projects are ideal for schools and businesses who want to make a difference as a unit. 

From three hours once a year to one hour once a week – you can make a real difference in the life of a homebound person.

*By Florida and Federal law, these volunteer opportunities require a background investigation.

Volunteers must complete the volunteer application, agree to a background check (where applicable), and attend a one-hour training session. In most cases, volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
